All Freezer Rooms require insulation within the floor. This can be achieved in a few different ways. If access is needed into freezer rooms by fork lifts or pallet trolleys the most common form of insulating floors is to create an in-situ floor at 250mm deep from the surrounding slab and construct the room within this well to the height of the desired freezer room height. On completion of this installation the in situ floor in insulated and concrete poured on top of this insulation so as to create a level floor within the freezer room as the surrounding slab. The second option is to lay a panel insulated floor on top of an existing slab and construct the freezer room around this floor. The down side to this kind of installation is there will be a 172mm step up if the floor finish is aluminium chequer plate or 230mm if the floor finish is a floated concrete slab.
